WE WELCOME HARD ROCKING WOMEN SEPTEMBER 18th!

LGL_HardRockinWomen

Linda Gail Lewis is the younger sister of one of music’s great performers, Jerry Lee Lewis. After decades preforming and recording with her brother, she released a critically acclaimed album of duets performed with Irish rocker Van Morrison in 2000.

Like her brother Jerry Lee, Linda Gail Lewis soaked up the sounds of hillbilly music and rhythm and blues in the rural areas of Louisiana. When Jerry Lee began to score hits with “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” and “Great Balls of Fire”, he singlehandedly lifted the family from dire poverty to a life of relative ease.

Linda Gail’s chief inspiration was Jerry Lee, but later, as the era of rock ‘n’ roll came into play, she also tuned into the sounds of Brenda Lee, Patsy Cline, and Lavern Baker.

Lewis’s official recording debut came when she performed as Jerry Lee’s duet partner for Sun Records in 1963.  Lewis’s first two solo releases, did well but failed to chart. It was after Jerry Lee mounted his late-1960s comeback via country music that Lewis was able to make it onto the charts. Recording with her brother, she scored a top ten country hit with a version of Carl and Pearl Butler’s “Don’t Let Me Cross Over.” A rousing duet remake of Chuck Berry’s “Roll Over Beethoven,” a staple of her act, followed it onto the charts. The Lewis duo’s 1969 Smash LP “Together”, featured their rowdy duet style on a variety of country standards and rockers. This led to Lewis’s debut solo album for the label, The Two Sides Of Linda Gail Lewis.

In addition to composing material for her brother’s top-selling Smash and Mercury discs, Lewis also garnered an ASCAP award for her song “Smile, Somebody Loves You,” a top 40 country hit.

During this time, Lewis toured almost non-stop as part of her brother’s show. By 1977 she had had enough—she quit the act, married a man outside the music industry and started a new family.

After a hiatus of nearly ten years, Lewis returned to music in the late 1980s, touring briefly with Jerry Lee before belatedly going solo at age 39. Lewis caught a career break when the New Rose label in France released International Affair, her first solo album in 23 years. Well regarded by critics for its raw, openly country sound, the album did not get much distribution in the United States, but put the European rock community on notice that she was available for shows.

Lewis’s biggest career boost came via legendary Irish rocker Van Morrison. Lewis met Morrison at a Jerry Lee Lewis convention in England. After a sound-check jam session, Morrison proposed the collaboration, which resulted in the 2000 Pointblank/Virgin album You Win Again The album reached the pop charts and sold strongly at the duo’s live shows. It became Lewis’s best-selling disc.

Over the next 15 years Lewis toured the world constantly playing some of the biggest and most prestigious rock and roll festivals. During 2014 Lewis met Rockabilly guitarist Danny B Harvey who introduced her to Quentin Jones of Lanark Records. Jones had just finished producing and playing guitar on a new album by Robert Gordon and was looking for his next project when Harvey introduced him to Lewis. Jones proposed recording an album of new songs recorded at the Lanark Studio during four days in February 2015. Lewis, Jones, Harvey along with Drummer Blair King and backing vocals Annie Lewis, Linda daughter cut 12 new tunes which will be released worldwide on an album called “Hard Rocking Woman” September 18th!

ACC MBPT AND THE FUTURE OF ROCK AND ROLL (AND RAP, AND CLASSICAL…)

ACC MBPT

Last night I had the honor of spending a few hours with my colleague Jean Spivey’s wonderful class at ACC as her substitute teacher.  MBPT students are required to take traditional music classes such as Music Fundamentals to address the constants of music as well as classes in music business and technology. There are classes in Commercial Music Theory, Songwriting, Applied Music Lessons and several Ensembles. The MBPT course inventory includes classes such as Survey of the Music Business, Legal Aspects of the Entertainment Industry and five other courses to enhance student’s knowledge of the music business. There are sixteen Music Technology courses including MIDI and Synthesis classes, Live Sound and Audio Engineering, taking students from beginner to advanced levels. While these classes teach the fundamentals of the technology they also address changes as they occur. They also  stay connected to the community recording in-store performances at Waterloo records, student internships at local music businesses (RajiWorld has had many ACC MBPT students over the years) and by providing volunteer opportunities for students at events such as SXSW. The faculty remains connected to the community via live performances in and around Austin and working with local music businesses and charitable organizations. I shared my excitement for Black Fret, SIMS, HAAM and all of Austin’s unique organizations we are so grateful to have available. I was able to hear about each of their current experiences in addition to goals they had for my talk and post graduate level work. Each and every one of these students was engaging and I think an asset to our local business landscape. I learned a lot just being with them. To The Future!

TIGHTENING MY AUSTIN//LA CIRCLE

SisterhoodBW

My very favorite part of booking has always been and still is the showcase. It was a huge thing in the days of full record company support and major label deals. I was the go-to girl to match make the right band to the right fans in front of media and I loved every moment of it. It was the opportunity for 200 or less people to say they were there. This was before social media but word of mouth lasted longer. I have missed everything about it. The moment I stepped into The Townsend I was hopeful and transported back to that feeling. Bands I love will have the chance to be heard with good sound, all eyes on them and with enough glamour on the walk to the show room that the feeling of anything possible can exist again! Thank you Kathy Valentine, Steven Weisburd and Justin Elliot for keeping the dream alive and well and fresh!

I’ve just booked Thursday Oct 22 for the first Austin appearance of The Sisterhood. I hope you will join us!

SHE WON’T GO IS THE COOLEST SONG OF THE WEEK!

WifeeHuzbandSM

Best described as the “new vintage,” WiFEE and the HUZz BAND is sure to rock your socks off! Vocalists Ruby James and Stephen Cooper front this ten piece powerhouse, leading the listener through their emotional love story with the reinforcement of a full horn section and a smokin’ rhythm section that will take you back to the glory days of Motown while being on the forefront of today’s cutting edge.

Little Steven’s Garage has just this week made She Won’t Go Recoded live at Summerfest! the COOLEST SONG OF THE WEEK! Hear Ruby James and The Mighty Manford live on the radio!

The story of this group begins with the chance meeting of Ruby and Coopy in the summer of 2012, and revolves around the whirlwind love that the two immediately had for each other.  The combination of these two incredible performers has created an unlikely marriage of musical styles that not only captivates the senses but steals your heart away!

Pulling from their combined influences of Rock and Roll, Jazz, Americana, R&B, Rockabilly, and Soul,  Ruby and Coop have assembled a band consisting of rock-n-rollers, jazz musicians, punk rockers, college trained craftsmen, and self taught savants to orchestrate a sound that has all the subtlety of a stick of dynamite!

This formidable collection includes Ruby James on lead vocals, guitar, percussion;  Stephen Cooper on lead vocals and tenor saxophone;  Greg Roteik on bass; Kipp Wilde and Barrett Tasky on keyboards and backing vocals;  Zach Vogel on guitar and backing vocals; Chris Scheer and Michael Underwood on drums;  Kurt Shipe, Greg Garcia on trumpet;  Tom VandenAvond and Tyler Jennings  Henderson on trombone;  and Jerod Kaszynski on baritone saxophone.

Tender, heartfelt, and explosive vocals overlay the powerful, driving locomotive rhythm of the band… virtuosic soloists echoing tales of bitter sweet romances and true love stories… a horn section with militant precision conjuring ghosts of a bygone era…and the unbelievably immediate love story of two people fused together so swiftly and with such intensity it is as if they have always been together, WiFEE and the HUZz BAND will grab you in an instant and have you dancing and singing along from the very first note!!’

WHEN NATURE AND ART ARE ON EVERYONE’S AGENDA!I

artosphere-2015

I am excited to be a guest this weekend at a wonderful event that I will be able to take a bigger role in next year with The Bike Zoo and many more artists to be announced. It is a wonderful time when an entire community puts art and the environment first and makes both apart of their daily lives. They say it takes a village and I feel blessed to watch one come up around this project bringing together neighboring cities, businesses, governments and the residents along with artists from all over the world.

Artosphere: Arkansas’ Arts and Nature Festival celebrates artists influenced by nature, who inspire us to live more sustainable lives. We invite the entire community to join us in the celebration by attending one or all of our free and low-cost family events, art exhibitions and performances!

“At its heart, Artosphere represents what makes Northwest Arkansas so special. The festival invites meaningful dialogue about nature through innovative arts experiences.”

Linda Gail and brother Jerry Lee grew up in Ferriday, Louisiana along with cousins Jimmy Swaggart (controversial, but world-renowned evangelist) and Mickey Gilley (country singer/songwriter, who gained a worldwide reputation via the movie “Urban Cowboy”). Most of their colorful, but poverty stricken childhood was spent in their hometown church built by members of the family. Their first musical experiences were right there at “The Ferriday First Assembly of God” where Jerry and Linda sang, moving toward what would be their life long career in music.

CHRIS STAMEY FINDS EUPHORIA ON NEW  STUDIO ALBUM

ESTEEMED SINGER/SONGWRITER/GUITARIST RETURNS TO SOUTHERN ALT-POP ON YEP ROC RECORDS RELEASE OUT JUNE 2, 2015

“INVISIBLE” PREMIERES AT BROOKLYN VEGAN

FALL TOUR TO BE ANNOUNCED!

“To me, euphoria lives inside an electric guitar. That’s a place I find freedom, passion, exhilaration: in the spaces between the notes, in the distance between the frets.” – Chris Stamey

Acclaimed North Carolina singer-songwriter, musician, and producer Chris Stamey, who is a pivotal figure in the history of American alternative rock” (PopMatters) and someone who “remains ever the pop craftsman” (All Music), will release his first studio album in two years, Euphoria, June 2, 2015 on Yep Roc Records.

The album’s available for pre-order at  iTunes and Yep Roc with instant download of “Invisible,” which premiered today at Brooklyn Vegan.

Recorded at Mitch Easter’s Fidelitorium and his own Modern Recording with the help of Jeff Crawford, the 10-song set finds Stamey returning to his electric roots with an emotionally resonant set of rocking, melodically infectious, sonically bracing new tunes, with expansive arrangements incorporating horns alongside unexpected sonic textures.

“I found these songs inside the same dilapidated old Silvertone lipstick guitar that I’d written my first records on,” Stamey asserts.  “Maybe that’s why it sounds a bit like those records in some ways.” In addition to Stamey’s own memorable compositions, the album highlights includes the rousing opening track “Universe-sized Arms,” a previously unreleased Ryan Adams composition that Adams suggested he record.

Assembling some longtime friends from Chapel Hill’s fertile musical community, the album features Tony Stiglitz, F.J. Ventre, Wes Lachot, Matt McMichaels, Eric Marshall (Let’s Active), Django Haskins (The Old Ceremony) and longtime cohort Mitch Easter, as well as guests Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub), Pat Sansone (Wilco).

The follow-up to 2013’s widely acclaimed Lovesick Blues, and 2012’s dB’s reunion album Falling Off the Sky. Since 2010, Stamey has been the musical director and orchestrator for a series of all-star international concert performances of Big Star’s classic album Sister Lovers aka Third, with a rotating musical cast that includes Big Star’s Jody Stephens as well as members of the Posies, R.E.M., Teenage Fanclub, Wilco and Yo La Tengo.

Stamey has also produced and recorded a wide variety of artists at Modern Recording, the Chapel Hill studio that he’s operated for the past two decades, including the likes of Whiskeytown, Alejandro Escovedo, Flat Duo Jets, Le Tigre and Tift Merritt.

GOOD-BYE LIZELLE SHOWS THAT OLSON IS EAGER TO EXPLORE NEW MUSICAL HORIZONS…

MARK OLSON GBL
All Music Guide – Mark Deming

Between his work with the Jayhawks and his solo career, Mark Olson has shown the world that he’s a fine singer and a gifted songwriter who is not afraid to bare his soul and explore both the concrete and spiritual sides of his life. But with his third solo effort, Good-bye Lizelle, Olson reveals a new facet of his musical personality as he experiments with world music. Good-bye Lizelle was recorded while Olson and his primary accompanist and spouse Ingunn Ringvold traveled around the globe, dashing from America to Norway, the Czech Republic, South Africa, Armenia, and many points in between, as Olson and Ringvold laid down tracks with local musicians en route using Olson’s portable recording rig. “Say You Are the River” is Olson’s own version of a raga, and “Lizelle Djan,” “Running Circles,” “Which World Is Ours?,” and “Jesse in an Old World” all reflect the influences of modality and the circular melodic patterns that inform Indian music. Olson also works in more familiar forms on Good-bye Lizelle, and he shines bright on the spare and lovely “Cherry Thieves” and “Poison Oleander,” which most recalls the Jayhawks with its fuzzy lead guitar and the splendid harmonies between Olson and Ringvold. Good-bye Lizelle shows that in the wake of Olson’s short-lived reunion with the Jayhawks, he’s eager to explore new musical horizons while remaining a thoughtful and singular American songwriter.

THE DREAM SYNDICATE’S ICONIC DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES BACK IN PRINT WITH UNHEARD BONUS TRACKS FROM REHEARSAL COMING JUNE 16 ON OMNIVORE RECORDINGS

reissueDS

After disbanding in 1989, the Dream Syndicate have come back together in the last few years for a handful of shows. Now, Omnivore Recordings has announced it will reissue the Paisley Underground leaders’ 1982 debut, Days of Wine and Roses, on June 16.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Dream Syndicate’s debut album, The Days of Wine and Roses, has long been considered the cornerstone album of L.A.’s early ’80s Paisley Underground scene, from which the band emerged. However, it was more influential than that: along with R.E.M.’s Murmur and the Minutemen’s Double Nickels on the Dime, the release is often considered one of the cornerstone albums of ’80s indie-rock. In a way it is the missing link between the ’60s-influenced R.E.M. and the post-punk Minutemen. Later period bands such as the Pixies and Nirvana were formed out of the sonic ashes that the original Syndicate lineup left behind.

The remastered re-release will feature the album’s original nine tracks, plus six previously unreleased songs that will substitute the bonus tracks from Rhino Records’ 2001 reissue. The first two songs of the set, “Is It Rolling, Bob?” and “A Reason,” are early rehearsals of songs that were slated to appear on the band’s 1984 follow-up, Medicine Show, before the departure of Kendra Smith. “Still Holding On to You,” “Armed With an Empty Gun,” “Like Mary” and “Outside the Dream Syndicate” round out the newly minted, previously unheard songs. Check out the complete tracklist below.

The deluxe reissue will also feature brand-new liner notes from members of Rain Parade, Long Ryders, Green on Red, Divine Weeks and Sonic Youth. It will also boast notes from Rhino Records’ Gary Stewart and music journalists Chris Morris and Byron Coley.

Days of Wine and Roses was the Dream Syndicate’s last album with its original lineup: Smith, Steve Wynn, Karl Precoda and Dennis Duck. The band went on to release Medicine Show, 1986’s Out of the Grey and 1988’s Ghost Stories.

You can pre-order Days of Wine and Roses here.

INFINITY + INFINITY IS HAPPENING!

INFINITY + INFINITY

ELIZABETH MCQUEEN PRESENTS  ‘INFINITY + INFINITY’ TAKING PLACE ON APRIL 30 AND MAY 1
The press is pouring in and we are excited to see it tonight! Thanks to The Daily Texan and Community Impact newspapers.
Show will feature motion sensor technology, cutting-edge animation, and sophisticated building processes to create interactive, life-sized, audience controlled visual environments working in tandem with McQueen’s original music

(AUSTIN, TEXAS – April 2015; source: Juice Consulting) – Austin-based singer-songwriter and KUTX DJ Elizabeth McQueen is proud to present an interactive, multi-media performance entitled “Infinity + Infinity” at Austin’s Museum of Human Achievement on Thursday, April 30 andFriday, May 1. There will be two shows each night, one at 7 p.m. and another show at 9 p.m. For more information, please see: www.infinityplusinfinity.net. Tickets are $10 in advance and $13 at the door and can be purchased online at: www.ticketfly.com.

To see some of the interactive, psuedoholographic fun, click here

The installation will be funded in part by a grant from the City of Austin’s Cultural Arts Division, as well as through funds received from local music non-profit Black Fret. Additional sponsors include KUTX 98.9PsiPlay

and Texas Music Water.

The inter-media music performance features McQueen’s newest ensemble, EMQ (with guitarist Lauren Gurgiolo and multi-instrumentalist Lindsay Greene), in conjunction with interactive structures designed and built by designer/visual artist Jerome Morrison. The work will utilize cutting-edge animation, audience-engaging motion sensor technology, and sophisticated building processes to create interactive, life-sized, audience-controlled visual environments (the PsiScreen, PsiBox and PsiWorld) working in tandem with McQueen’s all original music. For more information on the technology, see www.PsiPlay.net.

The music and the media will explore the heartaches, ambivalences and joys of long-term commitment. Says McQueen about the theme of the installation, “Last year I suddenly found myself with time enough to write about where I was. And where I was, where I am, is deep into a series of lifelong commitments – to my husband, to my children, to my cat even. This kind of journey is as mind expanding and magical as it is tedious … as rewarding as it is frustrating. And I wanted to tryand capture that lovely ambivalence in my songs. At the same time I was getting more and more interested in different possibilities in interactive visuals thanks to my friendship and collaboration with Jerome Morrison. I’m excited to combine these visuals with my new songs to create an immersive experience for people.”

The PsiScreen, PsiBox and PsiWorld are adult-sized structures that combine the “Pepper’s Ghost” technique – wherein a 3-D image is reflected onto a clear, reflective surface, making it appear to be a floating hologram. Through the use of motion sensors, a person will be able to manipulate that image with their movement. This will be layered onto video imagery where the audience will be able to control different aspects – such as opacity and colorization – via this use of midi controllers and VJ software. In the PsiBox, which is more of a pyramid than a box, the image appears to float in the center of the pyramid. PsiWorld is a 12′ x12′ version of a PsiBox, large enough for an adult to walk inside of. While inside, they will be able to interact with images in such a way that they, as well as the people outside of the box, will feel as if they are experiencing a new kind of magic.

 About EMQ:

EMQ, comprised of Elizabeth McQueen (the Grammy-nominated former female singer for Asleep at the Wheel), Lauren Gurgiolo (guitarist for Okkervil River and leader of the experimental noise rock band the Dialtones) and Lindsay Greene (former bass player for Paula Nelson and Seth Walker), is a new group that is exploring what happens when they mix and meld of all of their influences — at once.

At the center of the sound are McQueen’s vocals. Her singing has been compared to “Loretta Lynn spliced in honey.” Or maybe Peggy Lee copping Ella Fitzgerald licks. It’s a sound that comes straight out of the mid-twentieth century, and when coupled with her arch top guitar rhythm playing, it is a thing of post-was beauty. But rather than surround that voice with appropriate instrumentation — say live drums, upright bass and jazz guitar — it’s surrounded instead by Moog bass lines and Micro Korg riffs, distorted guitar loops and sampled drum beats.

Lauren Gurgiolo is one of the most inventive guitar players in town and she commands the stage as the lead guitar player for Okkervil River. But Gurgiolo has long had a love of experimental sounds, and her own project, The Dialtones, has allowed her to explore this love of audio-experimentation. In 2013, this passion culminated in a City-funded mixed media art installation called “Calculated Carelessness.” Inspired by Soren Kierkigaard’s “The Seducer’s Diary,” the sold-out installation explored the ways in which people connect and disconnect through technology.

Lindsay Greene has made a name for himself in the roots and Americana world as a solid and imaginative bass player, playing with McQueen, Ray Price, Paula Nelson, Seth Walker, Victrola, Jo’s House Band and the Robert Kraft Trio.  But he, too, enjoys the avant grade.  He’s been a member of the Dialtones since their early days as well as playing with Chad Raines’ (Amanda Palmer) experimental dance rock outfit, The Guilty Pleasures.  He was so interested in making the sounds he was searching for that he designed and built his own analog noise-creator, The Deuce, which is included in the EMQ instrumentation line-up.  In EMQ, Greene translates his bass skills to the Moog, while also providing other synth sounds.

About Jerome Morrison:
Jerome Morrison has a Masters of Arts Degree in New Media Studio from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. There he delved into ways to expand the boundaries of interactive gaming technologies in order to create immersive, interactive experiences. He was the 2013 winner of the Appalachian Student Research Forum in Digital Media for his pseudoholographic interactive art installation, “The HiFi God,” where people were able to interact with a godlike projection. Since moving to Austin, he has collaborated with Steven Fishman on the “Obelisk” project, created pseudoholographic visuals for the Crash Alchemy dance troupe, and joined up with Elizabeth McQueen to create an interactive art collective named PsiPlay.

I am honored to produce SXSW’s official Doug Sahm Tribute Show at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday March 21, 2015. The Paramount has about 1200 seats and as it is an official SXSW event, badges and wristbands will be given entry first but there will be tickets for sale to the public as well!

The unsung hero of Texas music, Doug Sahm was country and western child prodigy on steel guitar, a teenage rhythm and blues guitarist who fell under the spell of chitlin’ circuit legends such as T Bon Walker and Gatemouth Brown, and hitmaker with number one radio hits in his hometown of San Antonio when he was still in high school. He rode the wave of the Beatles and the British Invasion with his band the Sir Douglas Quintet, landed in San Francisco in time for the Summer of Love, and planted his flag in Austin at the birth of the Austin music scene, creating his own Groover’s Paradise. Respected as a musicians’ musician, Sir Doug’s greatest triumph was founding the Tex-Mex supergroup The Texas Tornados with his one time mentor Freddy Fender, his lifelong sidekick Augie Meyers, and accordion legend Flaco Jimenez, whom Sahm took from the West Side barrio to worldwide renown.
Join us for the Sir Doug Sahm Tribute Night on Saturday, March 21 at The Paramount Theater. The all-star lineup includes Doug Sahm’s former bandmates Augie Meyers, Flaco Jimenez, and the Texas Tornados, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and more musicians that he worked with throughout his life.

Advance Tickets for The Doug Sahm Tribute at The Paramount Theater on Saturday night March 21st  Presented By SXSW will be available starting Friday the 6th for $20 advance, plus Service fee and Paramount preservation fee, from The Paramount Theater Online Ticket Service.

APPLEONFIRE APPLEONFIRE!!

"If I'm Late"
Appleonfire pre-order live on itunes now ! (it’ll only be pre-order till release Mar 3)
You can also watch the Paste Video Premiere: Louise Goffin – “If I’m Late starring Louise Goffin and Joseph Arthur
Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in LA’s Laurel Canyon during its music halcyon days, Louise Goffin is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer who released her first album on Elektra/Asylum when she was 19. Along the way she’s released six solo albums and produced a Grammy-nominated record for Carole King, “A Holiday Carole”.
Her EP, Appleonfire, Louise’s seventh studio recording, got its genesis following the June 19th 2014 passing of her father, lyricist Gerry Goffin. It comes only months after Louise’s first release in six years, Songs From The Mine, which was described by the San Diego Troubadour as “a masterpiece of reinvention”, by The Los Angeles Times as “endearing folk-pop”, and by American Songwriter as “a terrific return from an artist…whose best work is likely ahead of her.”
Appleonfire features Joseph Arthur singing on “If I’m Late” and Jakob Dylan on “Take A Giant Step”.
The EP is produced by Louise Goffin and Barry Goldberg and due for release this month!
Some who have recorded her songs include Paul Thorn(“Fabio and Liberace”), Shawn Colvin (“Between Two Worlds” in the film Grace of My Heart), Terry Reid (“Fifth of July” -the story goes that when The Yardbirds disbanded, Jimmy Page wanted Reid to fill the vocalist spot for his proposed new group which was to become Led Zeppelin) Lindsay Lohan(“Black Hole”) and Carole King (at least five of her daughter’s songs). For many who grew up with The Gilmore Girls hit TV show, Louise’s voice can be heard with Carole’s on the duet in the opening theme“Where You Lead”.  Louise has also toured the world on electric guitar in Tears For Fears, and played banjo with Bryan Ferry.

“After the loss of my father, Gerry Goffin, earlier this year, I was unable to stop, momentously on tour setting up the release of “Songs From The Mine”. I found my unexpected grief traveling along with me, yet soothed by music and audiences everywhere I went. Two days after his passing, I performed a song he wrote (and sang lead vocal on) called “Its Not The Spotlight”. Singing his lyrics always made me feel he was still with me. Five weeks later, musical friends gathered ‘round to support me in celebrating Gerry’s spirit in the recording studio, making this new EP. With six songs in total, four of them are lyrics of my father’s, & two have never been recorded till now. With incredible contributions from Barry Goldberg, Jim Keltner, Bob Glaub, Val McCallum, Jackson Browne (who generously gave us studio time) Jakob Dylan, Joseph Arthur, Wally Ingram, and Stevie Blacke, it includes the song “Higher Than Low” co-written with the late & beloved Chris Aaron. Join in the making of Appleonfire.”

3% of goal and 10% of any money raised after that will go to the American Lung Association.

RAJIWORLD AND POLLSTAR GO WAY BACK!

pollstar

I got my hands on my first Pollstar back in 1990 at The UA as I was booking the Spring Fling.  My daughter Laurel learned to walk at the 2000 Vegas version of CIC and many of my favorite festival bookings and longest business friendships came from time well spent in the lobby bar. This year was no exception. It was in Nashville which is the future second home for my new sister company, Compass SS.

We are Sponsorship Stewards navigating new horizons for a better future by developing partnerships between the creative arts and innovative businesses with an emphasis on life style marketing, trends and green solutions. This will be my first year not behind the scenes at The Austin Music Awards and I think I might like just representing a winning artist and giving them my full attention without a radio and clipboard attached to me! Vote away!
