Congratulations to Friends of Dean Martinez on a splash pre-release week. Lost Horizon had an absolutely fantastic first week out. The record landed at the #8 spot on the CMJ Most Added Top 20 with 69 stations reporting official Adds. The record also was the #3 most added record on the AAA charts!

Becomes of the Broken Hearted" RajiWorld would like to thank No Depression for sharing the big 10 year anniversary with so many of our acts, We were able to help with parties in Chapel Hill's Cat's Cradle with Chris Stamey, at Waterloo Records and The Continental Club in Austin with Jon Dee Graham and Charlie Sexton and LA at the Mint on Sept. 14 starring Tom Freund, Grey DeLisle and Murry Hammond. Founded in 1995 as a quarterly by its editor-publishers Grant Alden and Peter Blackstock, No Depression just underwent a redesign and is now a color bimonthly serving the relatively small, yet ravenous and vocal, Americana music community. The publication is celebrating its 10th anniversary with 10 commemorative shows in six cities. In September, the University of Texas Press will publish an anthology, "The Best of No Depression: Writing About American Music."

A limited edition of 5,000 copies will be pressed with 100% of proceeds going directly to the Willie Fund. I have discovered bands from my own backyard I did not know about and gotten to walk and breath at 11,000 ft! "Guitar instrumental fans have been raving for years about pedal steel guitarist Bill Elm and his band Friends Of Dean Martinez. Early FODM albums on Sub Pop Records put the band in tight with savvy guitar fans and it’s worth noting two recent FODM CD releases on the German-based Glitterhouse Records. The band’s core lineup of Bill Elm (steel guitar), Mike Semple (guitar) and Dave Larchance (drums) come alive on their 2001 live CD—recorded in Germany—Live At Club 2. Poltz One day until showtime! I want to share a story from the Austin Chronicle with you here. I am part of a committee putting together a benefit for my client Jon Dee Graham's 6 year old son who has Legg-Perthes, which is a painful, degenerative bone disease that primarily effects boys between the ages of 3 & 11. It requires specialized physical therapy, and may potentially mean several years of surgery to replace his hip joints as he grows.

" Ben made a surprise appearance on Sunday in Berkeley, CA at Wavy Gravy's 69th Birthday benefit for Seva. He played a 30-min acoustic set and was joined by longtime friend and musician Tom Freund on the song "Pleasure and Pain." Jon Dee & Gretchen Graham's son Willie has developed Legg-Perthes disease (LCPD), which is is a form of osteonecrosis of the hip that is found only in children. The music community is responding with a double benefit on Friday, June 24 at The Continental Club ($25) and Saxon Pub ($20) with a combined ticket of $40 with limo service in between venues! That is Austin responding for you :). this one of the most interesting conferences I have ever witnessed.

meals at Four Seasons ( thanks Jefferson) and the double rainbow

noticing). I have many photographers to thank and will add them
here as soon as time allows. This is the last update pre-SXSW because it is almost upon us! I will soon be booking tours for a new favorite band and an old favorite band.
