MY STORY

my live music love story

RajiWorld history

I am Roggie Baer,  founder of RajiWorld, an artist booking and creative agency established in 1991. I began her career at the University of Arizona in the late 1980s through SUAB, leading booking and promotions for key campus and club events, including: Eat to The Beat (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, Billy Idol), Spring Fling (Jellyfish, Redd Kross, The Posies, The Paladins), and early promotion at Counter Club & Club Congress (including Tucson’s first El Vez show and The Ringling Sisters). I also served as KAMP Student Radio Music Director and booked early trial shows including Green on Red and Giant Sand.

I founded RajiWorld in 1991, naming it in tribute to the iconic Hollywood nightclub Raji’s — a central hub of rock and roll in the 1980s–1990s that hosted: Guns N’ Roses, Jane’s Addiction, Nirvana, Hole, Beck, Social Distortion, The Dream Syndicate, The Ringling Sisters, Redd Kross, Tex and the Horseheads, Mary’s Danish, Los Lobos, The Miracle Workers, GG Allin, The Muffs, Red Aunts, The Mentors, Butt Trumpet, Kill Buddha, The Sacred Hearts, Baby Girl English, TrashCan School, The Lazy Cowgirls, The Nymphs, Pussy Galore, Kyuss, Pink Fairies, Thelonious Monster, Oiler.

After college, I relocated to Los Angeles, ran Concrete Blonde’s fan club, and launched the agency professionally. Her first clients were Rosie Flores, Duane Jarvis, Pete Anderson, and Buddy Miller (of Nashville). She expanded her roster to include Andy Prieboy, The Ringling Sisters, Honk If Yer Horny, Jim White, The Lonesome Strangers, Rufus Wainwright, Tarnation, The Violet Burning, and Warren Pash.

Following one of the first SXSW conferences, I relocated RajiWorld to Austin, Texas, where she worked with Joe Ely on multiple projects. After marrying Bill Elm of Friends of Dean Martinez (from Tucson), I returned to Austin during an active touring era and represented an extensive roster including AJ Croce, Al Kooper, Beaver Nelson, Berkley Hart, The Bike Zoo, The Blackwatch, Billy Harvey, Bill Kirchen, The Bongos, Chris Stamey, Cotton Mather, Cowboy And Indian, Creamer, The Customers, The d.B.’S, Daniel Johnson, Danny Malone, Dash Rip Rock, The Visual Art Of Federico Archuleta, The Fleshtones, Flam Chen, Friends of Dean Martin(ez), Gary Myrick and Havana 3am, Grey Delisle, The Hacienda Brothers, The HawtThorns, Ian Moore, Ivan Julian, Jesse Dayton, Jon Dee Graham, Julie Christensen, Kathy Valentine, Melanie, Michael des Barres, Miles Zuniga (Fastball), Moot Davis, Morris Mills, The Mother Truckers, Miss Pamela Des Barres, Papa Mali, Patrice Pike, Paul Collins (The Beat, The Nerves, The Breakaways), Peter Case (The Nerves, The Plimsouls), The Rugburns, Tom Freund, Tony Scalzo (Fastball), Triple Cobra, The Split Squad, Stephen Bruton, Sirenalia Mermaids, Steve Poltz, Steve Wynn, and many collaborations with Austin’s broader music community.

I am now based in Tucson, Arizona, and remains available in MST to talk music, booking, and memories.

I’m a big fan of supporting new artists and hope you are too. My agency, RajiWorld, has worked with a lot of artists I’ve discovered, resurrected, swooned over, and — most importantly — shared with other fans. Please go see any of these great acts if you ever have the opportunity — you’ll thank me! Keep in mind that this is rock and roll: some bands may have broken up or traveled heavenward.
